BABY CAROLINE

BABY CAROLINE'S STORY

Welcome to the world my sweet niece, Caroline Elise. Caroline is the third child of my older brother and his wonderful wife. She is the first girl in her family. She is petite, she is beautiful and she is a true gift from God. Caroline was long awaited. She was dreamed of, she was prayed for and despite the fact that she was born with certain complications, Caroline was born exactly the way she was meant to be.

Shortly after giving birth, it was discovered that Caroline was born with a cyst-like mass on the back of her head. After further evaluation they realized that Caroline also only had one eye. Testing and Mri's revealed that not only was Caroline special on the outside, but on the inside as well. Caroline was born with a brain malformation that makes it so her brain does not have the normal separation that it should. Caroline had surgery to remove the mass on her head, which was successful. She spent days in the NICU with her mama by her side, to be monitored for seizures, but had none.

What do all of these complications mean for Caroline? At this point we do not know just how Caroline's life will be affected by these medical issues. And so we wait and watch. What we do know is that baby Caroline breathes on her own, she nurses, she cries, she kicks her feet and she even grips your hand. While her tests say she is different, so far, she is doing exactly what she is supposed to as a newborn baby.
Her parents and extended family are so incredibly thankful for the gift that Caroline is, and are holding to their faith, that God has a plan for her life. While her future is unknown to us, we are confident that God's hand is on Caroline, and we trust Him with her life.
I have set up a button to accept donations that will be given to Caroline's parents, to help offset her current and future medical costs. Along with any of the donations I receive, all profits from sessions and prints that I make during this holiday season will go to baby Caroline. With the holiday season approaching, consider your gifts wisely this year. Please search your heart and donate for our sweet baby girl. Please comment your thoughts and prayers for baby Caroline, on the post below, and they will be forwarded to her family.

"But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness. Therefore I will boast all the more gladly of my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may rest upon me... For when I am weak, then I am strong."
2 Corinthians 12:8

Sneak peek for "K!"

I had the greatest girl time with one of my greatest clients yesterday! I've been photographing this little sweetheart for years now and it is such an awesome thing to watch her grow from once a  shy little thing into now, quite the little ham--she even shouted out when it was time for  "a new pose!" I've gotta admit, the highlight for me was when Mom took me down to this field in their yard I'd never been to...it was like straight out of the Secret Garden!--a photographer's dream!
Thanks for all the fun yesterday, and for obliging my requests! Enjoy!

All of my clients and their families are absolutely wonderful but every so often I get a client who really "gets" and appreciates what I do, and it is truly awesome. This family always picks the best places for sessions, and they have the most adorable little boys!
Last time I shot this family they only had one, so it was great to meet their newest little man "J!" Thanks for an awesome treat at the farm and for hooking me up with my new favorite location! Enjoy your sneak peek!

365 Project Day Two: REUNITED

What I learned today--Even though my very generous and kind sister took three of my children to the museum, and left me with only two...hmm....only two....my conclusion at the end of this day is this--sure, I usually have five, and two is way less than five. But the level of difficulty is not necessarily dependent on the number left, but rather which ones are left.
Lesson learned.
This was taken right when they got home...they missed the little ones.

Sneak peek for "W" Family

Have I mentioned how much I love a cloudy day??? We dodged the rain today and were lucky enough to have the most perfect light for this session!
Not to mention the most adorable little boys and most precious chubby baby girl!

These sweet boys have got to be the cutest pair ever...and I had so much fun chasing them around their yard! Enjoy your sneak peek "W" family!!

365 Project

As simple as it sounds...365 days, at least 365 pictures. That's my goal. Most people start this sort of thing around New Years, but it took me about this long to come up with this "resolution," or at least this long to decide to actually do it.

My goal is to gather some lasting memories of my everyday, so that I can create an album at the end of the year of my family...a project that I always say I'm going to work on, but never actually do.

So, for the next year, I am going to flood this blog with the "everyday" of my life...at least one picture a day.

Five kids. One dog. Homeschooling. Projects. Laundry.
Come back to watch it unfold.

Day ONE: BIG BROTHER

Sneak peek for little "J"

This handsome guy just turned 2 and I can't even believe how big he's gotten! It seems like yesterday his mama and I were crankin the heat and rockin him like crazy to snuggle him up on my beanbag as a newborn. Look at this cutie now...such a little man in his tux. I absolutely love these repeat clients of mine and I always have a blast at our sessions. So glad we finally matched up our schedules! Enjoy your sneak peek, these were hard to choose!

Sneak Peek for Baby "L"

I was so excited to photograph this little guy...so excited that I forgot to bring my camera! Thanks to the good Lord and to my wonderful hubby who looked down and saw my camera that was left in the car...this session was a success.
There's nothing cooler than watching one of your longtime childhood friends falling in love with their firstborn. All the memories of our childhood days come back to me, and to see where we are now is just amazing. Today was one of those "full circle" moments.
This little man has the most perfect tiny features.
Thanks mama for stickin with me today, I had a blast. Hope you guys like your sneak peek.
And one with his proud daddy...

Welcome to Marion Burgos Photography!

Welcome! I am a newborn and family lifestyle photographer serving the greater Litchfield County and a stay at home, homeschooling, mother of five.

Marion Burgos Photography came to life after the birth of my third child, and after my last failed attempt at getting department store portraits of all three of my children at once.

Yes, after one too many failed trips of dragging my kids to the mall, I decided that I would take the task of picture taking into my own hands. I decided that I would never again sit in a crowded waiting area with my cranky kids only to capture portraits with pasted on fake smiles, three days before Christmas.

And I decided I would never again pay outrageous prices for cookie cutter portraits, in print sizes I would never use. What does someone do with one hundred "mini-wallets" of the same pose anyway? Even if they were only $3.99, I decided I no longer wanted them.

I wanted images of my children that truly capture their goofy, little personalities. I wanted pictures of them being silly, being tender, running wild...pictures of them being themselves.

If there's one thing I've learned from being a mother of five, it's that moments are fleeting, seasons pass and children grow up. And those sweet, signature expressions our little ones have, those are the ones I want to capture. Those are the memories I want to frame, and cherish, and remember.

So join me as I strive to create and capture those special images that keep our kids small forever.
